How do video visits work in New Jersey state prisons?

Video visitation is rolling out facility by facility, starting at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility and Bayside State Prison. Visitors must create a separate video visitation account at njdoc.gtlvisitme.com, providing full name, address, date of birth, email address, and front and back images of a valid government-issued ID. NJDOC custody staff review each registration, and the visitor must appear on the incarcerated person's approved Visit List; review may take several business days. Once approved, schedule at least 72 hours before the requested time. At Edna Mahan, incarcerated persons may participate in up to two video visits per week. Video visits are not scheduled on weekends and holidays, and they are monitored. If a scheduled visit is canceled and does not occur, a credit is issued per policy; no refunds or credits apply when a visit is terminated for rule violations. The fee schedule is $0.90 for deposits of $0.01 to $9.99, $1.75 for $10.00 to $19.99, $5.95 for $20.00 to $99.99, $6.95 for $100 to $199.99, and $7.95 for $200.00 to $300.00.
