Green Bay Correctional Institution

Green Bay Correctional Institution is Wisconsin's primary maximum-security state prison, operated by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and located in the city of Green Bay in Brown County in northeastern Wisconsin, roughly 110 miles north of Milwaukee. Established in 1898, GBCI houses adult male inmates at maximum security classification and is one of the central institutions in the Wisconsin DOC system. The facility sits within the city limits of Green Bay, Wisconsin's third-largest city and home of the Green Bay Packers NFL franchise. Families create a JPay account and add the inmate using their Wisconsin DOC number to begin correspondence. GTL manages phone calls and video visitation under the Wisconsin DOC statewide contract.
