Federal Correctional Complex Petersburg is a multi-institution federal prison campus located in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, about 25 miles south of Richmond. The complex includes FCI Petersburg Low, FCI Petersburg Medium, and a minimum-security satellite camp. There is no high-security penitentiary within the Petersburg complex — the institutions housed here operate at low and medium security levels, which means broader program access and generally more routine communication schedules for inmates compared to higher-security BOP facilities. The complex sits in a largely rural part of south-central Virginia.

Communication across all FCC Petersburg institutions follows Bureau of Prisons rules.
